Professor James Whyte Leitch Adams

Emeritus Professor James Adams was born in Stirling in 1909 and was educated at the University of St Andrews and Oxford. He served in the RAF during the Second World War and was appointed inspector of schools thereafter. From 1950 he was lecturer in Humanities at the University of Aberdeen until 1954, when he was appointed to the Bell Chair of Education at University College Dundee.
